Offering bespoke tutoring or mentoring can really make a difference
Mentoring and Tutoring
We are keen to develop a tutoring and mentoring service in the future for children and young people. We envision that this may take place in school and outside of school hours at the student’s home, having established relationships with schools.
This would cover both academic and well-being needs.
The idea is also to build a community of tutors where they can share their expertise and resources, meeting at least twice a year, ensuring that they do not feel that they are working in isolation and are part of an evolving community team.
Supporting Graduates
This initiative has started (July 2023) with two Assistant Psychologists, Honours Graduates of Psychology, being trained for specific assessments and then under close supervision to deliver them, with ongoing training to expand their expertise. This is important as currently it is very difficult for graduates to gain paid experience that they need in order to gain the credentials to apply for the highly competitive doctorate programmes that will qualify them as a fully qualified Psychologist.
This has been very successful, with positive feedback from schools and parents delighted with the quality and insight from these assessments.
